Account & Data Deletion

eGov Gambia — citizen app (com.egovgambia.citizen)

You can request deletion of your eGov Gambia account and its associated app data at any time. This page explains how, from inside the app or without it, and exactly what is deleted versus what is retained.

1. Delete from within the app
Open the app and go to Settings → Delete Account. Confirming starts a 60-day grace period. During those 60 days you can cancel the request at any time by returning to the same screen. If the 60 days pass without cancellation, your login is permanently deactivated and you will no longer be able to sign in.

2. Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have the app installed, email contact@egoveglobal.com from the email address or phone number registered to your account, and include your full name and date of birth so we can verify your identity. We will act on the request within 30 days, subject to the same 60-day cancellation window described above.

3. What gets deleted
Your app login, session data, and device-linked app preferences are deactivated and removed.

4. What is retained, and why
Your app account is separate from your official government records. Identity information, biometric data (such as fingerprints), applications, licences, and service history created through your use of the app are official government records held by the relevant government departments — for national identity, licensing, land registry, and other public-service purposes. These records are retained as required by law and for the ongoing administration of government services, regardless of whether your app login is active, deactivated, or deleted. Your registered phone number remains associated with your government record and cannot be used to create a new, separate app account.

5. Regaining access
If your login has been deactivated, contact contact@egoveglobal.com to request reactivation. A new registration using the same identity or phone number will not create a separate account.

For the full legal terms governing your account, see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
